June 14th 2008:
Sara & Tony's wedding was going to be nothing short of perfect. It was 9 am, Sara's hair and makeup were flawless, and we, the photographers, were eagerly awaiting the grand reveal of her dress. Suddenly, Sara screamed for her mother, mortified. Her mom rushed into the room and tried to calm her down, only to emerge in a panic, declaring, "We have a problem." The zipper on the back of Sara's dress was broken and wouldn't do up. As the photographers, we sprang into damage control mode, because that's what we do. We sent dad to find fishing wire, knowing that thread would break, and instructed mom to fetch a sewing needle. With strategic precision, we sewed Sara into her dress, ensuring she was back on track to walk down the aisle. Crisis averted, we resumed our duties, making sure Sara was relaxed, calm, and ready to take her momentous walk to her groom.
When I first started working for a wedding photographer as a teenager, I was taking a photography in college. I spent long hours working on weddings as an assistant, putting out fires and capturing moments from morning to night every weekend. However, I soon realized that while I loved the company I worked for, the relentless hours of photography and subsequent editing weren't my true passion.
What I did love was interacting with clients, understanding their vision, and ensuring they had an unforgettable experience. This realization led me to transition into managing the front end of the business, a role I found immensely fulfilling.
Being a key part of someone's wedding day is a special feeling. From the initial consultation to onboarding clients and guiding them through their wedding experience, I cherished the opportunity to build relationships and tailor our services to their needs. I understood the significance of a wedding day and the responsibility that comes with being chosen as a vendor. It's not just another event; it's a once-in-a-lifetime occasion that needs to run perfectly.
Over the years, I've come to appreciate the uniqueness of each wedding and the importance of providing exceptional customer service. Building strong relationships with clients and being a dependable source of support has been crucial. As a wedding vendor, it's essential to understand that each couple's wedding is a singular, irreplaceable event, and treating it as such is paramount.
Now, 15 years later, I still approach each wedding with awe, recognizing the significance of the day for the couple. I believe in the value of providing personalized, attentive service to ensure that every client feels truly special.
As wedding season approaches, I understand the demands it brings. That's why I advocate for the investment in a virtual assistant, as the payoff in efficiency and client satisfaction is invaluable.
My journey from a photography assistant to a wedding business manager has been incredibly rewarding. Throughout this journey, I've learned the significance of personalized service, the value of building lasting relationships, and the importance of treating each wedding as the unique and momentous occasion it truly is.
Let's join forces to ensure that every client experiences exceptional service not only prior to their wedding, but also on their wedding day and post-wedding. It's crucial that their entire experience, from start to finish, is nothing short of amazing.
